Welcome to the Perry District
The hip South Perry District is a lively residential area with a row of businesses on Perry Street from about 8th to 11th Avenue. This neighborhood is conveniently located close to downtown, University and Medical Districts. Unique shops, tap houses and restaurants anchor this historic neighborhood.
Pop over to Perry Street Brewing after work for a frosty pint. The hazy IPAs are refreshing, and before you order the second beer, order some food. The rotating tacos are a perfect bite of flavor.
Not to be overlooked is The Grain Shed – a unique mix of bakery and brewery. The ciabatta and cinnamon buns garner rave reviews!
South Perry District isn’t all about food (although it’s definitely a highlight). An original ice cream shop featuring a windmill is now home to Lorien Herbs and Natural Foods. Browse clothing and jewelry, designed by the owner, at Veda Lux Boutique. Title 9 sits on the corner across from Perry Street Brewing and offers outdoorsy items from yoga pants to swim suits.
In the spring, summer and fall, be sure to stop by for the Thursday Market. It features local artisans and farmers and runs from 3-7pm May through October.
Grant Park has a playground, tennis courts and a community garden. The garden is all organic and the South Perry Business and Neighborhood Association (SPBNA) provides all the tools. There are 44 garden beds which are rented out for the season (April to October).
